Mia Hanak is the Founding Executive Director of the Natural World Museum (NWM), a San Francisco based nonprofit organization presenting art through innovative programs to inspire and engage the public in environmental awareness and action. NWM provides transformative aesthetic experiences that help advance systemic change toward a sustainable future. Ms. Hanak has led NWM to be the world's premier cultural institution bridging art and the environment through the Art for the Environment initiative in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). She has also received several awards and honors from the City of San Francisco for her leadership in producing innovative exhibitions, for her dedication to the environment and to educating urban dwellers around the world, particularly in support of UN World Environment Day.
